Event of the Week Challenge

As the main MLB season has now finished we see the champions of The National League, The Phillies take on the American League title winners, The Astros! This is a 7 game series to decide the World Series champion!

The winners of the event are determined by whoever achieves the highest wins on a parlay / comboboost.

Event Overview

The National League champions, Philadelphia Phillies and the American League title-winning Houston Astros will meet in the 2022 World Series presented by Capital One. The event will air on Fox from Friday 28th of October 28, through to Saturday 5th of November, but may end earlier if 7 games are not required to determine the winner.

The first game of the series of seven will take place on Friday at Houston's Minute Maid Park. The Astros will be looking to clinch their second title in 6 years whilst the Phillies are looking to lift the trophy for the first time since 2008.

The Astros are coming in as heavy favourites, with odds of 1.54/-185 to the Phillies who are at 2.65/+165, The Astros have had a much longer rest time due to playing 5 games less in the playoffs than the Phillies. They also start with the home-field advantage for the first two games.

The Astros also come into the game without a loss on their record in the 2022 playoffs, hopefully, they will be able to keep their top form up after the extended break they had between the playoff and the world series.

This match-up is deemed to be one of the biggest mismatches in the series' history, with the Astros winning 106 of their games this season as opposed to the Phillies with 87, which only secured them third place in the NL east. They were the last team to secure a playoff spot in the last week of the regular season.

They have done incredibly well to get this far and it would be unfair to write them off completely. With some of their incredible pitchers allowing only one earned run or less in starts against the Yankees! They are certainly not going to be walked over in the series and I look forward to seeing what happens over the next 7 games!

One person who is certainly rooting for the Astros is Matress Mack, real name - Jim McIngvale who placed 10 million dollars in bets on the Astros to win the World Series. He is just four games away from one of the biggest sports bet pay-outs in American history! He is no stranger to making massive bets after previously putting 9.5 Million on the Bengals to beat the Rams in the Super Bowl LVI!
