This week we head back into the octagon as we head to UFC 280. This week is Charles Oliveira vs. Islam Makhachev, for the vacant lightweight title, and then we have Aljamain Sterling vs. TJ Dillashaw, for the bantamweight title and another big fight taking place is Petr Yan vs. Sean O'malley!

Event Overview

It's nearly time for one of the most highly anticipated UFC nights of the year, it is going to be a huge night of fights hosted in Abu Dhabi on October 22nd. The event is headed by a fight for the vacant lightweight title between former champion Charles Oliveira and up-and-comer Islam Makachev. We also have the co-main event which is for the bantamweight title which is currently held by Aljamain Sterling who is taking on previous champion TJ Dillashaw.

The main fight of UFC 280 card is heating up, with both fighters aiming to finish it before the final bell. Makhachev has said he is aiming to finish Oliveira on the ground whilst Oliveira's coach has said he expects an early KO to finish it. Oliveira will be looking to continue the destructive streak he has been on for the last 11 fights and reclaim the title that he didn't lose to an opponent but due to missing weight. Either way one of these two fighters will be walking away with the lightweight title this Saturday!

Also on the card is the fight for the bantamweight title, Aljamain Sterling is taking on former champion TJ Dillashaw in his second defence of the title. Dillashaw makes his way back to a title shot after his 2-year suspension and beating Cory Sandhagen recently. Sterling is certainly the favourite in this fight at odds of 1.54!

The heavy night of fights does not end there with another highly anticipated fight between Sean O'Malley and Petr Yan, O'Malley is a fan favourite and will is still looking for a title shot which could be secured if he is to beat Yan on Saturday. Yan is coming into this fight off the back of a defeat but will be looking to put his name back into the mix for the title.

The lightweight division always sees Matuez Gamrot take on Beneil Dariush to round off the main card mens fights, this fight also puts them both in contention for a title fight, with the top of the lightweight division being so hard-fought currently there could be any combination of these fighters on the next title fight.
